About Cole

So a little about Cole... I've known Cole for the majority of his life and I've been lucky enough to have him as my neighbor. At a young age he was diagnosed with FSGS, Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis, which to put it simply is a very harsh kidney disease. The only cure for this disease is to get a transplant and to the excitement of family and friends Cole was able to get a kidney and underwent the surgery. For a while, things got better, but before long his kidney failed. This has left him with a lack of a kidney for the majority of his life and is hooked up to a machine every night to regulate his body. Don't feel bad for him though. Cole is one of the happiest and funniest kids I have ever met in my life and he has been a huge inspiration to myself and everyone around him. Even when he is going in and out of the hospital he takes it as part of life and moves on. The struggles he has faced that many of us could not even imagine going through have made him the most mature young adult I have ever come across. Anyone lucky enough to get to know him half as much as I have or just spend a little time with him will realize what an amazing person he is and how strong he has become. He has helped change my perception of life and this WiffleBall tournament is my way of thanking him. Although it will never be enough to really show how much he means to me, I know he enjoys WiffleBall as much as I do and its a great way for the community to come together in his support.
